Ride along the sea with panoramic views of the Dunedin Harbour and Otago's rugged coastline.

Train Stops

  • No disembarking is permitted during the stop at Waitati.
  • You may disembark at Iona Church in Port Chalmers on the return journey to Dunedin. 

 

Seating and Group Bookings

  • Seating is General Admission but carriages may be allocated to improve your boarding/disembarking experience.
  • We recommend arriving early to find preferred seating together.  
  • Private carriages may be available on request if you have a group of 30+ passengers. 

 

Food and Beverage

  • Please note that there is no Café onboard this service. You are welcome to bring your own snacks but please no hot food or hot drinks.

LOCAL tickets

  • Proof of Dunedin city residency will be required at check-in (i.e. A computer-generated bill or statement that is not more than two months old and clearly shows your name and full residential address).
  • No proof, no boarding pass.

  • We have limited space onboard. If you wish to travel with a bike or other large items, please contact our team to request storage space before making a booking and at least 72 hours before your preferred train trip begins.
